LOOK MUM NO COMPUTER to represent UK at Eurovision
The UK’s Eurovision 2026 representative has been unveiled, with LOOK MUM NO COMPUTER set to take to the international stage in Vienna.
The Kent-based artist — known for his experimental sound, live electronics performances, and inventive musical machines — will lead the UK’s charge at the 70th Eurovision Song Contest. A self-proclaimed Eurovision fan, the multi-talented solo performer has built a reputation for blending songwriting with boundary-pushing electronic creativity.
LOOK MUM NO COMPUTER says: “I find it completely bonkers to be jumping on this wonderful and wild journey. I have always been a massive Eurovision fan, and I love the magical joy it brings to millions of people every year, so getting to join that legacy and fly the flag for the UK is an absolute honour that I am taking very seriously. I’ve been working a long-time creating, writing, and producing my own visions from scratch, and documenting my process. I will be bringing every ounce of my creativity to my performances, and I can’t wait for everyone to hear and see what we’ve created. I hope Eurovision is ready to get synthesized!”
LOOK MUM NO COMPUTER first emerged in 2014 as Sam Battle, frontman of the indie rock band ZIBRA. The group went on to perform at Glastonbury in 2015 for BBC Introducing. Battle later transitioned into a solo career, fully embracing his passion for synthesizers and electronic music.
Under his LOOK MUM NO COMPUTER moniker, he has since played to packed venues across the UK and Europe, releasing a wide catalogue of singles, albums, and EPs. He recently returned from a nationwide tour of Germany, widely regarded as a key centre of underground electronic music.
Away from the stage, Battle has also become a major online presence. Since launching his YouTube channel in 2016, he has amassed more than 85 million views and 1.4 million combined subscribers and followers across his social platforms. His distinctive content — centred on designing and performing with unusual electronic instruments — has achieved viral success, with creations including organs made from Furbies and Game Boys, synthesizer bicycles, flame throwing keyboards, and a Star Wars droid orchestra.
His achievements extend beyond music releases and touring. LOOK MUM NO COMPUTER has delivered a TEDx Talk discussing his inventions, launched his own video game, earned a Guinness World Record for building the world’s largest drone synthesizer, and curated a museum showcasing his creations.
The artist was selected following an extensive search led by UK Eurovision Project Director and music industry figure David May, alongside Andrew Cartmell, Executive Producer at BBC Studios North and Head of Delegation for the UK.
The song LOOK MUM NO COMPUTER will perform for the UK will receive its first radio play, along with the first exclusive interview, on The Scott Mills Breakfast Show on BBC Radio 2 and BBC Sounds in the coming weeks.
Kalpna Patel-Knight, Head of Entertainment at the BBC says: “We are absolutely thrilled to have LOOK MUM NO COMPUTER representing the UK at Eurovision in Vienna in 2026. His bold vision, unique sound and electric performance style make him a truly unforgettable artist. LOOK MUM NO COMPUTER embodies everything the UK wants to celebrate on the Eurovision stage – creativity, ambition, and a distinctly British wit. I am sure he will make us all proud on the international stage in May.”
Suzy Lamb, Managing Director, BBC Studios Entertainment says: “We are incredibly excited that LOOK MUM NO COMPUTER will represent the UK at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest. He is a genuinely original artist whose creativity and enormous love for Eurovision perfectly capture the spirit of the competition. Our team at BBC Studios worked to find something very different musically and LOOK MUM NO COMPUTER really stood out. From his innovative approach to music-making to the strong connection he has built with audiences online, he brings a unique energy to his performances that we can’t wait for Eurovision fans around the world to experience in May.”
The 70th Eurovision Song Contest will be held in Vienna, Austria following JJ’s victory at the Grand Final in May 2025 in Basel, Switzerland with their song Wasted Love.
